The new Government of Canada Building (GOC Building) houses several different levels of the federal and territorial government for the Nunavut territory. Located in Iqaluit, NT, this project proved to be a challenge both logistically and environmentally (weather). The building is set on steel piles about 4’ off the ground. The structure is glulam members both vertically and horizontally with wood framed exterior walls. Levels include a main floor, second floor, and a mechanical penthouse for a total of 29,903sf.
